Always-On Battery Connection for GPS?

Question:

I have 2-4D batteries with a 1,2, both or off switch connected to them. My GPS is connected to a fuse block which is connected to the battery switch. When I switch from one battery to the other I get a power blip which sometimes turns off my GPS. Is there a better way of connecting my GPS (maybe to unswitched power or ??). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.  - Steve

Hi Steve, sounds like you have a bad source selector switch. An off-1-2-both switch is supposed to make a seamless transition from 1 to both to 2 or vice versa. Perhaps your switch contacts are getting old.  - Jeff
