Can I Use a Solar Generator to Replace My Onboard Gas Generator?

Question:

Can I use a Solar Generator (i.e. Bluetti EB240) to replace my onboard gas generator, in combination with Solar panels and new lithium house battery bank?  I believe this will power all the AC needs for 3-5 days at anchor. - Geoffrey

Answer:

Unfortunately, we don’t have any experience with a solar generator. When we design and deploy electrical systems, we always build the system with multiple components: battery bank, inverter/charger, solar controller(s), and solar panel(s). Size your components to meet your daily power needs (measured in amp-hours) and then calculate how much power you’ll get from solar every day, lastly you can calculate the battery power you need until you get a charge from your alternators or connecting to shore power.
