Drifting Amp-Hours on Battery Monitors

We have a Link 1000 battery monitor that while away from shore power, over time will get out of sync and therefore Ah readings become unreliable. Do the newer Xantrex Link units stay in sync any better? Thank you. Great informative website!  - Julie

Answer:

Hi Julie, it’s normal for a battery monitor amp-hour capacity to drift over time. Calculating battery capacity over time is NOT an exact science but rather an approximation. The new Xantrex linklite and linkpro allow the operator to easily resynchronize the battery capacity over time.  - Jeff
