I Am Installing an Inverter/Charger, Where Does the Chassis Ground Terminate?

Question:

I am installing a Victron Multiplus Compact 12v/2000/80-50 inverter-charger. You have mentioned many times the importance of the Chassis ground. My question is where does the chassis ground terminate?

Answer:

The chassis ground should be connected to the grounding bus. On most boats, the grounding bus is mostly the DC negative distribution. Also the AC ground should also be connected to the grounding bus or the DC negative distribution.  You basically want a chassis ground path to both DC negative or AC ground.
