Recharging a 48 VDC Electrical Motor Propulsion Battery Bank

Question:

I am converting my boat to all electric power. I would like to use 8, FireFly Group 31 batteries in 2 banks, 4 batteries each to power a 20.0 kw electric motor from Electric Yacht. What battery charger is best for this application. Thanks for any input.  - Darrell

Answer:

Hi Darrell, you didn’t mention, but I assume you are running a 48 VDC battery bank to run your electrical propulsion? We frequently recommend the Sterling 48 volt battery charger to recharge your propulsion battery bank from shore power.  - Jeff
