Will Adding Another Battery Shunt Affect the Existing Shunts on My Boat?

Question:

I am interested in buying a Victron BMV-712 smart shunt. I saw some wiring diagrams and they all show that it is hooked up to the negative side of the battery. 

The existing setup I have:

I have 2 shunts both on the positive side of the battery, one is an alternator current sensor the other is a battery current sensor from the latter which goes load.

My question is if I install the Victron BMV-712 shunt on the negative side of the battery, will this affect the Victron or the existing shunts from doing their job accurately? - Mario

Answer:

A battery monitor shunt won’t affect or be affected by any other shunts in your system. You can definitely install a shunt on your DC negative circuit to a battery bank.
